NWTF is doing some great things with their recent “Save the Habitat, Save the Hunt” campaign. I’ve been part of several coordinated events involving youth and disabled hunters through NWTF and they are first class all the way. Recently, I received the following from Cindy Spillman with NWTF:
I MAY HAVE MISSED YOUR DEADLINE FOR NEXT MONTH’S MAGAZINE ISSUE BUT IN CASE I DIDN’T I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE SOME INFORMATION WITH YOU TO INCLUDE ON OUR UPCOMING NWTF MENTORED DOVE HUNTS THIS FALL. I HAVE REQUESTED A PRESS RELEASE FROM OUR NATIONAL OFFICE THAT I CAN PROVIDE ONCE COMPLETED BUT I KNEW TIME WAS OF THE ESSENCE TO GET THIS INFORMATION TO YOU SO DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND SEND IT.
AS PART OF OUR SAVE THE HABITAT. SAVE THE HUNT. INITIATIVE, THE NWTF IS FOCUSING ON CREATING NEW HUNTERS. IN ILLINOIS, ONE WAY WE ARE DOING THIS IS IN OFFERING MENTORED DOVE HUNTS TO FIRST-TIME AND LAPSED HUNTERS. THIS YEAR THE IL DNR IS PARTNERING WITH US THROUGH THEIR ILLINOIS RECREATIONAL ACCESS PROGRAM (IRAP). WE HAVE 4 DOVE HUNT LOCATIONS AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE STATE.
ATTACHED YOU WILL FIND A FLYER AND HUNT APPLICATION. ON THE FLYER, YOU WILL SEE A LINK AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION AS WELL. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN GETTING WORD OUT ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY FOR FIRST-TIME AND LAPSED HUNTERS THROUGH YOUR MAGAZINE.
