Since Illinois now has wild wolves, you may have wondered about the difference in size between a wolf and a coyote.
Maybe you even thought you’d seen a wolf in an unlikely area.
Below you can see the difference ... both taken in Montana.
In case you don’t know, the wolf is the larger one. HeeHee!

Does that wolf have a collar?

They both look like coyotes to me.

I agree. Both coyotes.

I’ll shoot first and ask questions later!

So much for stewards of the land… Comments and actions like these only give liberals and enviromentalists more ammunition to take away our hunting rights.

I agree outdoorsman look how big that baby yote would have gotten once it turned 4 years old. While your on your high horse don’t forget to chastise the picture to.

I don’t care what liberals and anti’s think. My cattle are my priority! And if that bothers you, maybe you should start eating soy products!

I hate soy-burgers!
Posted by prairieforester on January 06
Ha..soy burgers are not bad if you cook them in a little duck fat and then top them with cheese and a few strips of smokey bacon.

No high horse, I do not have an issue with hunting yotes either to manage their population. I personally hunt to eat but to each their own. I do have an issue with shooting animals for fun and man kind telling nature what predators should and should not exist. I understand wolves can affect a persons lively hood i.e. cattle. Il and the surrounding area do not not have a predation issue. Out west that is a valid gripe but lets be honest. In this area people just don’t like them and dont want them here. Who are we to decide that?

be more likely to have a local rustler steal one of your cows than a single wolf or maybe a mountain lion so many of them too.

The folks that went to work diligently to eliminate predators, particularly the wolf were not simple minded folk….as many would like us to believe. I guess it was just in the back of their minds all along? No experience with the wolf…just did not like the way he looked. The answer is they lived with the wolf…with the consequences of the wolf…and did not care to share the territory with them because of their behavior. They kill for sport…they consume their prey while alive…and are too efficient at hunting and too dangerous to co-exist with man. Do you know anyone who lives with wolves and their consequences? I doubt it. Well I do, friends in Minnesota, and Wyoming. They fear for their livestock..their pets, their children… wolves are not scared of anything. Like your big Illinois deer? Well get ready for them to disappear too. The reintroduction of the wolf was a political move and a feel good move by a bunch of bleeding hearts that would much rather hear about wolves killing your deer than know you are killing them. Wake up and smell the coffee….and by the way, I will tell you who I am to decide that….a man that knows who left me in dominion of the animals of this earth…God.
