I didn’t want to hijack another blog…and I really didn’t want to even write this, but enough is enough already.
This is a site that I look forward to reading several time a day. It’s one of the first things I do when I get in my office and it’s one of the last things I do before I leave early to go hunting. I’ve really thought long and hard before writing this blog and giving more attention to something which needs to be ignored. This is not an article to vent, rather an article to “take out the trash” so to speak. This will be the last time I write anything, post a comment, or remark on a certain someone’s attacks and rants.
At this point, I think we all know who I am about to write about. When someone hijacks what I think is the best hunting web site out there, it ticks me off. I have fallen prey to his ridiculous attacks in the past, but no more. I will now ignore each and every thing that he writes and encourage you to the same. His disrespect for hunting, animals, and people has gone too far. We as hunters work very hard to maintain a good image. An image of someone who actually cares about the game he or she pursues. An image of stewardship, conservation, and of family. When someone tries to ruin that image, I believe it is up to us as hunters to rid that person of his ability to promote…well how should I put this?….Unsportsman-like conduct. Enough is enough already. Let him seek his attention elsewhere. On the latest video post on this site, a coyote is arrowed with what looks like a good, clean, kill shot. Then the disrespect for animals shows its ugly head. To pick up a hunter-killed coyote (or any other animal) , say “I taught you a lesson”, then throw the animal on the ground and walk away as to suggest leaving the animal to rot, is far from what sportsmen and women on this site stand for. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of the coyote, but I do respect his life. Do I want coyotes killing the fawns on my property? Absolutely not. However, the coyote is just doing what the coyote was born and bred to do. He’s a predator. He eats meat. I have taken several coyotes in my life with both gun and bow…even got one at 35 yards with my bow while my then 7 year-old daughter videotaped the whole thing. Boy was she excited! But we didn’t mock it on video and then throw it on the ground in some tough-guy fashion. We took it home, skinned it, and made a nice rug out of it. Disrespect for people on this site is one thing. People can fight and argue back. But disrespect for game on a hunting site it completely unacceptable to me. Talk about giving our enemies ammunition. I now understand why I was personally attacked for writing an article pointing out how things have changed in hunting TV. I think it’s time we end the nonsense once and for all.
Several of us, me included, have been suckered in by his personal attacks and name-calling. No more for me, thanks. I kind of feel like a fool for letting myself get sucked in by this nonsense. For a while there it sort of entertained me, but now it has gone too far. It’s gone from funny to….well, whatever it is now.
In order to not hijack any other blogs, let’s just keep it to this one. Who’s with me on ignoring the nonsense and getting back to sharing info and learning from one another? If he posts here, and I’m sure he will, just ignore his posts. We no longer have to associate ourselves with someone who is filled with ego and disrespect.
Now, I hope things start picking up in the deer woods. I hear from other hunters that they are seeing more buck movement. Can’t wait for early November. Things should really get heated up soon.
PS- To whom it may concern, and I believe you know who you are, you could have done something with your videos and maybe even made a few bucks along the way, but your attitude will always keep you down. I’m sure you have learned a few things along the way that could be helpful to other hunters on this site, but due to your rants, personal attacks, threats of violence, name calling, and general absurdity, no one will ever listen to you again. I’ve never seen someone be so self-destructive. So arrogant that you only think that your way is the right way. Any other method or idea must be from that of a fool. Truly sad. Seriously, what happened that you turned into this? I’ve met so many people that visit this site and every one of them are solid people, yet you seem to have an issue with each and every one of them. Is it seriously just the attention that you seek? You’re willing to sacrifice reputation for attention? Very sad indeed.
Well said. I like the title too

Thanks. Just so you know though. There was no intention for this to be an attack at all. Just trying to put an end to the ridiculousness. It’s gone from funny to violent and that’s not cool.

Yep. Not sure why Jeff continues to let him spew his nonsense.

It is especially sad that our youth are able to view this type of behavior. This is a social site and lets keep it that way. We are all responsible for our actions. Happy postings.

Good job John. The last rant has gotten way out of hand. But, others need to learn to leave well enough alone as well. It was nice a quiet until he was poked and prodded.

Just ignore him, he seeks attention good or bad. Boycott his homemade videos.

Completely agree John. Though tempted to look at the latest video post I to had already decided that I was done listening to this guy and did not watch it. This just confirms that I made the right decision. Great post and keep up the good work. I always look forward to the information you provide in your blogs.

Why Thank You, TREEMEISTER. I promise this will be it. Future articles will be regarding hunting, particularly small acreage hunting. I just thought it had to be said.

You should have just left it alone and wrote about something more important, like the increased deer activity. He isn’t the first idiot to rant on here or make personal attacks and unfortunately he won’t be the last. The other guy is almost as bad for inciting him, clearly that guy has an axe to grind too.

Personally i dont shoot coyotes because after you shoot them, theres one thing you can do with them. Drag them into the weeds and leave them and i personally dont want to do that. Do i act like trent did on video? no, If he would have done that with a deer i might have a issue with it but im not going to bad mouth another man for how they deal with a coyote after it was harvested. This reminds me of one time i was on a website for catching grenel aka bowfin. They asked me what i did with them i said i shot them in the head with a 22 and tossed them up in the weeds. Boy they were mad. What did they want me to do with a grenel after i caught it?

trent, can i get that same 10,000 to 1 bet that i cant shoot a yote on film please?

Unfortunately, freedom comes at a cost - which is why there will always be garbage out there. You just have to be able to filter out the stuff you don’t like. I could care less about YouTube hits, but you’ll never see me lower myself to tears on YouTube.

I’m gonna take the high road and apologize. I was laughing so hard during the video I did not realize that and I’m truly sorry from the bottom of my heart. Please forgive me Trent as well as you Nemo, I sometimes say things I shouldn’t when my meds are running low and “Bad Andy” just gets the best of me.
Good luck to everyone in the next few weeks! The rut draws near!!!

Well, Trent is no longer going to post on this Website. He probably crossed the line many times for some of you, but for me the last straw was attacking John on his own blog.
John is a blogger on this site and, in my opinion, an important contributor. Trent is not. He posted comments. He will no longer do that. John, I hope, will continue to post blogs.
I am told that I move too slowly in these regards. I hesitate because my hope is that people will stop the bickering on their own. I guess I am naive, because it seldom works out that way.

Thanks Jeff.

Thanks, Jeff. I can finally post something without the childish, attention-seeking, attacks. Glad you ended his garbage. Let him do it elsewhere. B

Good riddance should have been done a long time ago, I do support Jeff’s decision I just thought things would die down but I guess not some things or people never change

THANKS Jeff !!!
Can I also ask that all the thread made by Trent & any about Trent also disappear for ever too ??
His bashing of a fine hunting org like P&Y was in VERY poor taste. That is when I started to figure out what we were dealing with.
Most everyone here knows that P&Y is a great non-for-profit org that does many many good things to help protect hunters rights & the future of our hunting sports !!!
P&Y is about A LOT more then a simple record book !!!
Also there are some links there, that he left to his website and you-tube videos. It is just more spam that he was trying to push on all of us.
It all just needs to go away, for the good of everyone.

Good call, Jeff.
A little bickering is one thing; threatening to kick people’s butts is way over the line.
Thanks

I guess I missed something. All the better, I don’t like that kind of trash anyhow. John,I truely enjoy your articles….as I do the others on this site.Keep up the good work, and Good Hunting!
Posted by Jarhead1 on October 26
Thanks, JARHEAD. I enjoy writing them as well. It just got old having him attack every single thing I wrote. Name calling and the usual antics is one thing, but violent threats towards other readers is completely unacceptable. The way I look at it…Jeff didn’t kick him off, he kicked himself off.

I enjoy reading what all of you write, I am not going to say I agree with or disagree on everthing that is written. It is just enjoyable reading other peoples thoughts and comments. How they hunt and fish, the way each one does it, and if anyone has any questions they are answered with the best of the writers knowledge and ability. I have learned something new from each one of you, but I also have read things that are new to you but I have done for awhile. I also believe that most of you do this for love of the outdoor world and not for the fame or the money. I believe that has happened to a lot of these people, they have lost site of the sport and think the hunting channels is the real world, go kill something big and get free stuff, get my name out there and maybe I will get my own show. It is always me me me me! And I think this is what has happened, I don’t know the man so I will not make a comment on him one way or the other, but I hope that the real reason he started hunting or fishing comes back to him. The love of the sport, not the love of the kill.
