Snowy Deer

Time has been a precious commodity for me lately. The holidays are now over and projects at home are winding down. Hopefully this will mean more time in the field taking pictures and shed hunting. Thursday was my first time out looking for sheds, but the bitter wind and snow kept the excursion short lived. I didn’t find any sheds but the deer were abundant.

Does were herded up and I spotted a couple young bucks still holding antlers. I’m hearing reports of lots of bucks with half racks already. Most of the ones I’m seeing are still carrying both sides including this buck I got a shot of the other day.

I’m looking forward to posting more frequently now and particularly about shed hunting trips. I’m hoping this year’s finds will include some monster sheds!

Awesome pics as usual.  Does that little buck have a small droptine?

Posted by southfulton on January 13

SF, your right that is a little drop or sticker on that buck.

Good catch SOUTHFULTON.  I just zoomed in on that little buck and it sure is a drop tine…the start of one anyway.

I love these pictures. That last buck is a dandy 8. Its in a graveyard though? Kind of ironic, if it were being hunted that is.

That graveyard must be a hotspot, your always getting dandy pics out there. Keep us posted when you start finding sheds.
