Non-Typical Hunter

Some simple ground hunting footage

Nothing mind shattering but some neat footage of me hunting from the ground in a Ghillie suit. It’s very hard to see but I was trying to run-off a smaller buck in one clip because there was an estmated 170″ monster only 25 yards away from me! Needless to say, the small buck got within 7 yards from me and the big boy didn’t offer me a clean shot.

I think I counted 4 bucks that came within 7-25 yards from me that hour. I passed up the 110”, the 120” and the 140” only to watch the 170” walk by with no clear shot. Hey, that’s hunting! I love it either way. If you have a good eye, you can look deep into the video and see other bucks moving in the back. The sad thing here is the video I was using makes everything appear farther back than it really is. Next year, an HD for sure!

You’ll see I had two bucks, one in front of me and one to my left, that absolutely would not go! No matter what I tried, short of running after them, they remained curious. Does will do the same and even a mature buck now and then. The nice thing was I wasn’t busted from scent or appearance. It’s the rush of all rushes!
