Top 5 Update

Mon, November 28, 2016

Gotta tell you I was pretty pumped to see some recent emails in the Inbox regarding a Private Message.  Typically that means somebody is catching some bass.  But mid-November had me wondering just what lie in store.  As you will see, these messages were quite impressive.

Mark Bass

Weight: 6-5
Angler: Mark Balbinot
Date: November 18
Location: Fulton County strip pit
Lure: 3/8 oz. jig (black and blue)
Structure: Laydown in about 7’ of water
Angler Comments: Took this past Friday off work and fished before the big cold front came through the area. Glad I did! Caught over 20 bass with a few good ones. Managed to get one to cull. Big fish was 6-5 that was caught on a jig. Also caught a 4-15 on jig and a 4-10 on a spinnerbait.

Mark Bass

Weight: 6-8
Angler: Mark Balbinot
Date: November 20
Location: Fulton County strip pit
Lure: ½ oz. Texas rigged 10” Power Worm (motor oil w/ red flake)
Structure: Grass line in about 10’ of water
Angler Comments: Today I braved the cold air and blue bird skies. Was pretty slow but was rewarded with another cull. My biggest bass for the year weighing in at 6-8 caught on a 10” motor oil with red flake power worm. Was fishing a grass line in about 10 ft. of water.

Mark Bass

Weight: 5-8
Angler: Mark Balbinot
Date: November 26
Location: Fulton County strip pit
Lure: 3/8 oz. jig (black and blue)
Structure: Laydown in about 7’ of water
Angler Comments: My second fish of the day was a 5 lb 8 oz and culled my 5 lb 2 oz. I caught this fish in almost the same spot I caught a 6-5 on November 18th. I was stunned to catch another good fish there on that spot.

Mark Bass

Weight: 6-4
Angler: Mark Balbinot
Date: November 26
Location: Fulton County strip pit
Lure: 3/8 oz. jig (black and blue)
Structure: Laydown in about 5’ of water
Angler Comments: But then, my third fish of the day was a 6 lb 4 oz and culls my 5lb 8oz. I caught this fish in almost the same spot I caught a 4 lb 15 oz on November 18th. Now that was just crazy!
Top 5 Weight: 30-8 (6-8,6-5,6-4,5-15,5-8) culled a 5-2,4-15,4-14

Note: The following links will get you a look at these catches via Mark’s uploads to YouTube.  Very cool stuff, definitely worth a look.

Outstanding job, Mark, and if this proves to be the finale for 2016 it is quite a finish indeed.  Kind of at a loss for anything else to add as those bass speak for themselves.  Definitely excited to post another stat update once December arrives.  And if anyone can coax another bite or two send ‘em this way; only 34 more fishing days until 2017. Talk to you later.  Troy
