Top 5 Update

Mon, August 15, 2016

If I were to select my least favorite open water month for bass fishing it would have to be August.  Perhaps I am not alone, maybe the fish ain’t cooperating or the Top 5 is just experiencing a summer lull/burnout.  Whatever the case, thanks to Brice for his latest catch that pushes him into fourth place among the 2016 anglers.

Brice Bass

Weight: 4-7
Angler: Brice Wangler
Date: August 5
Location: Southern IL public water
Lure: Yes
Angler Comments: My Top 5 are finally all over 4lbs.  After missing a few weeks of fishing, I finally have my boat back.  Let’s hope I can make the time to catch up.

Top 5 Weight: 21-5 (4-8,4-7,4-2,4-2,4-2)

Way to go, Brice, and congrats from the fisherman who has now been pushed into fifth place by a whole two ounces.  I guess I’ll have to use that as motivation to find another quality fish or two when time permits (maybe September).  I actually gave it a go last week but couldn’t get it done (report sometime this week hopefully).  Got word that another of our anglers also took a shot at some new water but August found the lunkers to be elusive there as well.  Good to get out anyway and here’s hoping you keep on casting.  Talk to you later.  Troy
