harvest 2harvest 1scrape 3scrape 2scrape 1oh myhead on

I love nothing more than photographing wildlife…esp. big whitetails!  It doesn’t matter if its my DSLR with a big lens or a small trail camera!  Like most of you, I get very excited when I get to check my trail cameras..almost like Christmas morning all year long!

A good friend had asked if I would do a “census” of the deer on his farm earlier this fall and I jumped at the chance to see what was running around his west central IL property!  What I captured was a lot more than I expected…a true world class whitetal..best of all he’s a real poser for the camera!

Out of respect for his privacy, I must keep his face and the location obscure…we all know what happens when a farm gets TOO much unwanted attention when a deer like this goes down!

Awesome Don! Great pic’s, Great Buck! Congrats to the “Invisible Hunter”! Wouldn’t it be hard to aim without a face??!!  HeeHee!

He killed a Bute!

Wow. Just WOW. World Class animal.

Congrats to the hunter. Hope his location remains obscure. Wish all of Illinois big bucks could have remained obcured! Been enjoying this sport since 1972. Would trade the record books, the deer classics and HO, for the good ole days. Not trying to sound bitter. Just know what Illinois did’nt have in the 50’s 60’s &70;‘s how great it was in the late 80’s and 90’s what we started losing around late 90’s what we lost up to now. I think we can accept managing for herd size, but a few simple changes are needed and would be welcome by most.

I also promised to wait till the end of the season before posting him…
I have another 200 class typical that “got away” so to speak!  Got some awesome trail pics and he is still alive and well!!
Its funny….a week before I got these picks I was telling my wife that I wish I could get a REAL monster on of my cameras…the Universe answered!
I’ll post the other 200 next week after Christmas!

Quite possibly the largest Whiteail ever taken by a Black man?

Posted by jpphish on December 23

That’s funny as Gordon Whittington was asking about that deer this morning!IOWA- LAST YEAR! A better Pic that I posted, is on my blog right here on Heartland if you research back!

Goes to show you can’t believe anything your read on the internet.  So much for journalist background checking.  I guess Dave just wanted to get out of the office for Christmas.

I know EXACTLY what you mean buddy!

Hi to Tina!
Happy Holidays!  TW

Nothing personal Tim, you know better. Lots of good times had all those years, would not trade them! Was just rolling with the obsured hunter and location request. I’ll stick to the last half of my original post. Retract sentence five. Replace it with. I’ll trade N.A.W and S.Potts for the good ole days!                                          P.S. your close to blowing my cover, don’t want anyone to know I’m from Adams Co. the home of 2 1/2 year old bucks.                  Happy Holidays to you and Bea!

WHY WOULD SOMEONE COVER THEIR FACE IF THEY KILLED A FAIRCHASE RECORD BOOK BUCK?  WILL THIS BE CLAIMED AS A RECORD BOOK LATER?

Posted by WILDMAN on December 25

He isn’t entering it or displaying it anywhere…he’s a private person that doesn’t need the attention!  Just in case imaginations start running wild…its a legitimate harvest as I was there!
Merry Christmas!

You mean not every one wants to be famous and slap their stupid logo on everything from socks to energy drink???  No way- I mean doesn’t this guy know that killing big bucks will turn you into a PROSTAFFER?  That and belly crawling into Illinois Power Property smile

I think it is admirable and I want to issue a heart felt “thank you!!”  If more people would just shut up and hunt like this guy it would make the world a much better place to hunt.
