Rage 125-grain broadhead

Thu, May 16, 2013

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (May 16, 2013) — At last year’s ATA Show, Rage introduced the most lethal broadhead to ever hit the market, the Rage X-tremeÔ. This year, Rage has expanded the line to include a 125-grain broadhead for those bowhunters who prefer a heavier broadhead.

Designed like its 100-grain counterpart, the 125-grain features a ferrule with a very low ballistic coefficient, a 2.3-inch cutting diameter and a sweeping blade angle that maintains kinetic energy longer and penetrates deeper than any other broadhead. The X-treme produces huge entry cuts, devastating wound channels and massive hemorrhaging for even better blood trails. The leading-edge blade at the tip of the X-treme is honed to surgical sharpness for exceptional bone-busting and tissue-slicing penetration on any game.

Designed with the recently patented Shock CollarÔ blade retention, the Rage X-treme broadheads are designed for dependable blade containment and optimal deployment at all times. This new technology ensures that your blades will remain in place until you are ready.

The new X-treme 125 broadheads are easily recognizable by their black ferrule. Rage X-treme broadheads were designed for use with bow draw weights greater than 55 pounds for best results. The X-treme 125-grain broadheads are available now at retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 3-pack.

Prois Hunting and Field Apparel Continues Tremendous Growth

Tue, April 02, 2013

In 2008 female hunters worldwide were awakened to the great product line up by the team at Próis® Hunting & Field Apparel, shining a long-awaited spotlight on the need for women’s high-performance technical hunt wear - made with no frills or fuss, just fit, form and function for success in the field.  The growing demand for Próis’ women’s only gear over the years has been phenomenal.

Próis has a stellar reputation for rapid growth; as evidenced by the fact that Próis has seen a 200% growth each year in business thanks to the growing demographic of die-hard female hunters.  According to the National Sporting Goods Association (NASGA), female participation in hunting rose 36 percent between 2001 and 2010, to a total of 2.4 million women hunters.  Additionally, according to CBS News, the national total for female gun owners has doubled in the last decade, increasing to nearly 5 million women since 2001.  These impressive statistics support the proverbial writing on the wall; women hunters currently are and will likely continue to play an integral role in the future of hunting.

Most recently,  the confidence of a new investor is further fueling the growth of Prois. “The new investor partnership has allowed Próis to move full speed ahead including hitting the gas petal on production and adding three additional manufacturing facilities, all while maintaining bulk production right here in the U.S.,” said Kirstie Pike, President/CEO of Próis Hunting & Field Apparel.  “Our team is super-creative (some call us wild and zany) and we’re excited to put our innovative plans into play - starting with enhancing our product line to feature the popular Mountain Mimicry camo pattern, as well as launch a robust line-up in 2014 that’s sure to take the hunting world by storm - you’ll have to stay tuned!”

Próis was created for women, by women and they are proud to serve as the premier manufacturer of women’s hunting gear.

New Johnny Stewart electronic callers

Thu, February 07, 2013

Johnny Stewart® Wildlife Calls has set the industry standard for nearly 50 years, building rugged dependable game callers that use the original high quality Johnny Stewart sounds. Now four new electronic callers are available that feature leading edge technology to help hunters, whether novice or expert, be more successful in the field.

The four models include the Jury, Bloodhound, Gallows and Executioner. All four models include a separate remote control. The Bloodhound, Gallows and Executioner remotes operate on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. The Jury remote runs on a single 12V alkaline battery. The main units have a unibody base and speaker design and are built from a tough impact resistant polymer. The speaker can be rotated to modify sound dispersion for different calling situations. The weather resistant speaker yields clear, accurate and authentic sounds. The base unit operates on 8 AA or 8 C batteries. The callers have a power save mode to extend battery life, yielding 6-8 hours of continuous play. The top three units have USB ports to connect to a computer to enable both new sound downloads and potential firmware updates. New sounds can be downloaded at https://www.cdtdigital.com/hunterspec/ The Jury has a USB port to allow for downloading of sounds only. All four models will also play 2 sounds at once for an almost endless mix of calling scenarios.

The Jury caller comes pre-loaded with 25 original Johnny Stewart sounds and has 128 MB of internal built-in memory for recording up to 99 sounds. It comes with a compact 12 key remote that will operate up to 75 yards away from the base unit.

The Bloodhound model comes pre-loaded with 50 Johnny Stewart sounds and has 2GB of internal memory and 4 pre-sets. It comes with an ergonomic remote that features 12 quiet soft keys with touch registers and an LCD display. The remote has a range of 200 yards.

The Gallows caller comes pre-loaded with 75 Johnny Stewart sounds with 4GB of internal memory and 16 pre-sets. The remote has a 300 yard range, 16 quiet soft keys with touch registers and an LCD display. The base unit also comes with a full set of controls and can be operated without the remote. The Gallows caller also features three calling modes: Standard, which plays sounds precisely as recorded; Sound Shuffle, which randomly shuffles sound segments of the original loop so wildlife never hears a sequence the same way twice and Custom, which plays calls in a sequence designed and programmed by the user. The Gallows features a built-in GPS feature with up to 16 recordable waypoints, allowing hunters to mark their favorite calling stands and return to the spots where they had previous success

The top of the line model in the new Johnny Stewart line is the Executioner, which has 100 pre-loaded time-tested Johnny Stewart sounds. The unit has 4GB of internal memory and 32 pre-sets (16 on the remote and 16 on the base unit). The remote has a 300 yard range, 16 quiet soft keys with touch registers and an LCD display. The base unit also comes with a full set of controls and can be operated without the remote. The Executioner caller also features three calling modes: Standard, which plays sounds precisely as recorded; Sound Shuffle, which randomly shuffles sound segments of the original loop so wildlife never hears a sequence the same way twice and Custom, which plays calls in a sequence designed and programmed by the user. The Executioner also features built-in GPS with up to 16 recordable waypoints, to allow hunters to mark their favorite calling stands and easily return to their most productive spots. Executioner Speaker has 9 or 18 watt output to choose from.

The new line of Johnny Stewart electronic callers offer hunters a variety of calling options in a price range they can afford.

Buzz Plug top-water lure

Mon, February 04, 2013

FORT SMITH, Ark. - Imagine stopping your buzzbait right next to that stump and letting it float there, then twitching and shaking it to entice a big bass to strike. Or, how about retrieving your buzzbait with slow twitches and subtle movements when fish are especially finicky? Or, throwing a buzzbait on top of the slop or over wood cover and working it out with no snags?buzz plugs

From the company that brought anglers the Jitterbug and the Hula Popper, two legendary topwater lures, comes the totally unique Buzz Plug, a near weedless floating buzzbait with built-in action. With a normal constant “buzzbait” retrieve, the Buzz Plug waggles side-to-side in a swimming motion, and when paused, the nose and blade lifts out of the water and perfectly positions the upturned double hook for sure hooksets. This same front-end rise allows the angler to slap the water by twitching the rod tip, and the double upturned hook is nearly weedless, allowing anglers to throw it onto sloppy weedbeds or into heavy cover and bring it back without snagging. The Buzz Plug comes in eight color patterns.
