Stay on Target

Devil Buck?

Mon, November 10, 2014

When the video of this “4 pointer” popped up, at first I was not impressed.  It just looked like a typical young spike.  Then, when he faced the camera I was shocked to see an extremely weird rack.  I will not try to describe it, just watch and comment below.  As the deer takes a couple steps, it is evident that it has a leg injury.  This caused the rack formation I guess.

Yep, it’s definitely a shooter. The tough decision for me would be whether to do a Euro mount or a shoulder mount. I think if I went with the shoulder mount I would definitely request that the taxidermy be done with some wicked red eyes. My son shot his first deer this past youth season and it had fangs. Guess it’s a prehistoric trait that shows up in every 1 in 10,000 deer. Especially if it has some sort of injury, worth a buck tag if you as me.
