Big Ohio Six

Thu, December 01, 2011

Clint Harvey, this one’s for you! I know you’d like to arrow a P&Y 6-pointer some day (I’m sure we all would).

Only word I got on this was that it’s a gun kill from Ohio. Any guess on score? Wasn’t that big 180” clean 8-pointer also from Ohio this year?

Photobucket

Several years ago I scored a big buck contest in Monticello. The top 2 bucks taken that year in the contest were 6-pointers. Actually, one was a true 6 pointer, and the other one was a 7 pointer. If I remember right, the 6 had no brow tines and netted 142”. The 7 pointer “only” netted 134” but had brows. Both were awesome animals, and this Ohio buck ranks right up there with them.

About six years ago i recorded video of a true giant 6. Not to take anything away from this monster (I’d be very happy with him. I was watching a 12 and 10 pt with the 6pt a little distance away and i was thinking how nice the 12 and 10pt were, but it wasn’t until the 6pt moved next to the others and he dwarfed them. His brows were at least 7-8 inches and had to of had a 26in spread and 6in g-2s and it was late june. I saw him several times in the same field but just as autumn comes the deer go.

Great buck!

Impressive! My friend arrowed a P&Y 6pt on my property that at the time was the 3rd biggest P&Y 6pt in the world, i think its now dropped to 6th or something but sometimes its not always about how many points! I love deer like this!
