Bowhunter Ryan McKee shot this 9-point Brown County buck on the evening of Nov. 12, 2009. He was hunting with his friend, Matt Blackburn on family ground.
Missouri hunter Blackburn struck first on the morning of Nov. 12 for a 13-pointer that green-scored 142 7/8. Blackburn was hunting for does only that evening but could have had a shot at McKee’s buck.
“Before we headed out Matt cited that he would probably see all the big bucks since he no longer had a buck tag. About 4:45 p.m. the other buck headed right to Matt who had several does standing in the food plot he was hunting,” McKee said. “I watched as the buck headed right to him completely ignoring my grunts, bleats, and rattling. I continued rattling and grunting until I finally got his attention. He then closed the distance to 30 yds and offered me a broadside shot. The buck went 60 yards before going down and capping a great hunt.”
