GoPro HD Hero Camera Review

Tue, September 06, 2011

From May through August 2011, I extensively filmed and reviewed the GoPro HD Hero. Nearly all videos took place within the settings of my boat that was out on large lakes, and attached to my body while wading the rivers.

My purpose for this review is to share information about the HD Hero to a specifically targeted audience; fishermen and the fishing industry. It’s no secret that GoPro has established its popularity amongst surfers and other water sports enthusiasts. However, there is one other outdoors and adventure niche which GoPro can fill and that is on the bodies and in the boats of fishermen.

Due to the length of my review, it had to be broken down into separate chapters - six total. As a blog reader, I highly doubt you would enjoy reading an 18,000 word document with several photos and videos in a single post that dissects the camera in every imaginable way.

With that being said, the review is posted at my website, fishing-headquarters.com.

To spare our website hosting company, the homepage for the review can be accessed here: http://fishing-headquarters.com/gopro/

Located in Half Moon Bay, CA, GoPro is the world’s leading activity image capture company. GoPro produces the famous HD HERO line of wearable and gear mountable cameras and accessories,  making it easy for people to capture and share their lives’ most exciting moments in high definition.

The GoPro HD Hero has proven to be one of the best cameras ever developed for those who are involved in action sports and outdoor activities. It can be used to film everything in all conditions,  and is solidly constructed with durability in mind so that it can withstand abuse and neglect from weather and even misuse.

My GoPro package was received prior to when my fishing season officially began in May, 2011. GoPro’s Director of Communications, Rick Loughery, provided me with gear and accessories he thought would be best suited for fishing and the applications I was seeking. I was stressing to Rick that I would be mostly fishing and filming out of my boat.

This section includes four videos that were made exclusively with the HD Hero. Three videos were produced by Fishing-Headquarters while one was made by the GoPro studios.  Each video displays the HD Hero’s filming capabilities when used in a variety of outdoor conditions while fishing.

The HD Hero is one of the best high-performance wearable 1080p HD video cameras available. It offers decent quality 1080p/ 960p/ 720p HD resolutions recorded at 30 and 60 frames per second. In addition to HD video it also shoots 5MP still photographs making it sufficient enough to those who are interested in using it for their own leisure.

GoPro has done a great job of developing a camera for action and adventure sports, and meeting the demands of its customers. GoPro has given fishermen a good all around package, allowing them to document their adventures and best catches, and enabling everyone to capture the best moments in every day life. g activity image capture company. I feel this is all the information needed to be known about the camera and all of its functions. For the most part I’m sold on it and it works well for my applications. But it has a few annoyances, and video quality that is questionable yet pretty good depending on how you look at it.

I hope this review can both influence your purchase, and make you realize what you are essentially getting. The toy and gadget itself is cool, but there’s a lot more to it than just the $299 price tag of the camera itself…... This assessment should make you look into the product even further.

If anyone has questions or comments pertaining to the review and any GoPro products, feel free to add your comments, or drop me a line at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). I will try my best to address your questions and keep you informed.

Thanks.
