Permit came last week or so
2nd Season NZ Putnam Co. I can only hunt 2 Days. Hopefully will get some action.
I did apply for 5th Season NZ Putnam Co. My Long Weekend from work. I’ll be able to get out more days just in case 2nd season fails.
Good Luck Guys!

I’ve had a pretty good group of turkeys for at least the past 5 years, but I have not seen a turkey all winter not even on any of the cameras.  With all the hens and gobblers I had last year, it had to be the worst year for poults.  Saw lots of hens with nothing and the ones that did have young ones it was only one or two.  I assume something must have gotten the nests and maybe thats why they migrated away?

Deer Season was Good. I did not shoot a Deer, but seen more deer this past season then the last two. Hopefully starting to see some of herd getting some numbers back. I look foreward to this upcoming year. We had a couple good bucks on cam and hope they continue to stay healthy.

BigPond,
It seems we have a similar issue. We don’t see Turkeys or many during winter either. They seem to move back in Late Feb / March.
I wish we could hold them but they move out. Always have. Im sure youll be in good shape as season comes closer.
Good Luck!!

thanks Berg.  This happened about 5 years ago too and yes they seemed to come back in spring time.  Just strange they been around
all year round for last five years and then around Oct. 15 this year not one sighting.  Good luck to your spring hunt.

I did the OTC permit. All my picks were sold out! Soooo…I took Kane Co 2nd season. Not hopeful. I took it because the fact I hunt Waterfowl on a Farm cross from the Dick Young Forest Preserve. Its pretty thick timber. There is loads of every other wildlife in there so I took a shot (not yet). The back of the farm is wooded, Even took a nice 8 point last bow season from there. Gotta do some scouting. I’ve never seen any signs of Turkey though. Well see… otherwise im stuck with a 2nd season Kane co tag.

I have 2nd Season and received my 5th Season tag. Putnam Co.

I have heard other areas guys have seen less Turkeys compared to previous years. I think some of this crappy spring weather might be an issue. Seems we need a little warmer weather for those nests to survive. Hope we get that and have a good hatch tis year.

Shot a Jake yesterday @ 9:15am 19lbs. Very Healthy Bird
Tuesday was Very Quiet with No Gobbling. Had 2 Hens walk thru early. I hunted til Noon and saw another bird.
Wednesday Morn was a little better with some Gobbles Off in the distance. Nothing Close. Hen came out across field
and Fed. Then walked off into Timber.
This Jake sounded off around 9am. Called twice and he headed my direction. Shot him @ 7yds.
