Anyone else think throwing up a tent in the spring, sitting around a campfire is somewhat magical???A cold night around a warm fire anywhere in the timber just seems to soothe the soul:)Man i cant wait….....

I agree.  But I’ll add one thing…a couple horses tied up to a hitching post.  Going camping for a week to Indiana State Park soon with the hosses.  Can’t wait.  There’s even a little town (Story, IN) with a population of, I believe, 4, that we ride to, get a bit schnockered, and ride back to camp.  What a blast!

Camping period is good for the soul! I have camped in all the seasons and I love doing it, yes winter is not my first choice but I will do it. When I need a stress releiver I pack up the camping gear and go. I also love to camp and hunt, I do it at least once every year at JEPC state park. Matter of fact I plan for that trip all year long, I hope to get two trips in this year with the pop up I just picked up and many other trips with it.

What are some of everyones favorite places to go? State or private camp grounds.

I usually hit Moraine Veiw SP by Leroy,IL cause it close by and JEPC because its so big for hunting.

Umm, WTF, I have no idea why you can picture that.  Please don’t though.  Boys weren’t made for riding horses naked anyway.  Now the occassional drunk ride, you bet.  I’m all over that.  In fact, when my friends and I are looking for a new horse, we don’t look for trail or cow broke, we look for drunk-broke.

There’s something soothing about the flicker of a camp fire at night.I do most of my camping towards fall into early winter.Early spring is good too,but I’m not into the summer time thing..unless it’s in a camper trailer w/air smile

Treehugger wish I was going with you Brown County State Park. Beautiful down there. I lived in Nashville, In for a long time and loved it. Heading that way later this summer to fish Lake Monroe.

why would anyone want to take a sack of walking dog food with them on a camping trip ?????......LOL I go camping to have fun and relax, and a horse would not do any of those for me. Drunk and on horseback in a state park just sounds like a bad idea to me,but hey to each his own….....................RT
