Treehugger, I think it is being able to be lucky enough to have spent a lot of time in the woods or being able to hunt. Now I haven’t seen a lot of non-typical either, but have seen a few brutes, and of course was rabbit & pheasant hunting. I used to ground hunt a lot for deer. I have had possum and small coons walk over me, a buck step over my legs. A pheasant walk up and feed within inches of me, had a few foxes and a coyotes within ten feet from me. Chipmunks dash across me. Have had probably at least ten deer close enough to touch with my hand. Last year watched a mink for about 5 minutes about ten foot away. From a stand I have seen two groups of coons fight, each group was a mama with three or four youngins, you want to talk about a battle to watch. This is one of the many things I love about hunting & fishing, you just never know what you will see or see happen!
