CPOs will try to check sign-in sheets if they have the time. If your hunting a certain area or lot you better be signing in, If you dont and get caught its your butt

As far as there being another person already signed in well that’s just part of public hunting.  It’s usually like that every time I go.

You should always follow all site specific rules on public hunting ground, otherwise you run the risk of losing the privelage to hunt that ground. Some sites only allow so many hunters in one area at a time so be sure to check that as well. Always helps to be familiar with the rules and to follow them for an enjoyable public hunting experience.

Maybe I worded this wrong. I am referring to the people signing in at shooting time and walking around with flashlights not knowing where they are going. I have been hunting starved rock for ten years and never had this problem until this year. I know its public and u have deal with the idiots. What time do must of u guys get to ur stand before shooting time???????? I try and get into the stand at.least an hour.before shooting time. Sunday I had two deer bedded down under my stand until these idiots walked in and I had to yell at them after flashing my light at.them and they kept coming closer. Holy shit how dumb can you be.. Sorry for the rant. I have been out 4 times and all I have seen are people walking in at shooting time

Freak is right.  Gonna have to walk to get away from the clowns.  I usually try to be settled in about 1/2 hour before shooting time.  I hunt public too.  The worst ones I have to deal with hunt an hour or two and then scout for a better spot.

Most of the idiots are on the couch by December so that’s a plus but doesn’t help much right now.

It always seems to be the out of state or locals doing it. I get up at 230am drive over an hour to get there so I don’t mess anyone else up. I just have to recruit more buddies to go with me and fill the site. Dam duck season messes that up every year. No rutting activity seen.

I’d be looking for an alternate spot as soon as season is over for next year.  Actually its not too late this year.  I’d be looking man.  Life’s too short.

My walk was at least two miles as well. Didn’t see a lot of people, just about 15-20 deer every hunt. Excellent public spot, just gotta hike further than the average hunter. Like Andy says all the big rut “hunters” will be done for the year soon lmfao
