With a few pictures starting to come in from trail cameras, something I have struggled with is determining the age of Bucks or just deer in general. What are some keys to look for to try and figure out how old deer are both looking at pictures and as I am hunting. Thanks

That is a great website! It is still hard for me to see the difference between a 3.5 and 4.5 year old. I am not sure I’ve seen a buck that is 5.5 yrs old, even in pictures. With as much hunting pressure around my location they probably don’t exist. Thanks it definitely helps!

without knowing the bucks age from the previous years, most people, including myself, will have a VERY difficult time aging a buck off a cam pic- ESPECIALLY in velvet! The velvet mass can fool anybody!
