a good friend just posted on facebook that her son took one of his young children for a ride on their 4 wheeler this morning and saw a bear along the kickapoo creek just east of dunlap IL.

i questioned it, and asked “a REAL bear? for real?” and she replied yes, a real bear.

she isnt one to lie, so i kinda have to believe it.

so anybody who lives in that area might wanna keep a heads up.

Interesting.  Seems like an odd place.  But no different then the last bear up by Kewanee.  Will have to keep an eye out.

her son took the young child for a ride on the 4 wheeler near his parent’s house just east of dunlap, and he was the one that saw it.

stacy: Nick took Gavin for a ride on 4wheeler and saw a bear. Gavin says look little bear. Daddys says thats not little bear lol.

me: for real? a bear?

someone else: better not let the baby outside for a minuete. Takes seconds. Mom

stacy: They wasnt near the house but yes a real bear.

me: holy chit!

another person: Umm I prefer to pay admission to see them lol

stacy: Nick quickly turned the 4wheeler around and left the area lol.
.

nick is stacy’s son, and gavin is nick’s young child, and stacy’s grandson.

Doesn’t surprise me one bit.  The population in Wisconsin is exploding, and more will be coming this way.  Got 3 black bear preference points in Wisconsin, and I know they’ll be dropping the number of points soon in response to population growth.  Maybe 4 points will fly next year.
