Sorry guys, this isn’t really an ice fishing question. I want to get the boat in the water at least one more time before the ice comes. I can’t remember what the signs say regarding what date you can put a boat back in the water at Banner when hunting is done. I didn’t really pay attention the last time I was there because I figured that it would be frozen solid. I think Dec.22 is the last day for hunting, so you can put a boat back in the water Dec.23? Any help?

Duck season ended in the northern zone on Dec. 13th and i think it ended on Dec. 20th in the peoria area zone which is the central zone i think. Not sure if this helps.

I have run into a guy on Shovel a couple different times that usually has a slob crappie in his livewell every time I see him. I ask him how he did… He doesn’t say much just holds them up and they are always pretty big. I found a dead 18 incher stuck under the dock there one time. I musky fish and accidentally catch big bass (Johnson and Shovel) more frequently than any other lakes I fish, so the bass fishing is really good. Muskies in the mid 40 range have real nice girth out there compared to other lakes I frequent. Does anyone know when the lake is open for boats? Guess, I better drive out there and just look!

Just got done talking with head man Bill…after today you can launch a boat.
P.S.,Banner gets alot of fishing pressure(close to Peoria) and it can take some time to figure out the fish, but it’s also where I’ve caught my biggest crappie, walleye and largemouth. It’s a really neat place to fish and I’m very grateful to have it located so close to home.
