Been looking online for a custom spinning rod company or person. I cannot find anyone close to central Illinois, and I really don’t care about location, most important is quality and service to me. Mainly looking for jigging walleye rods. Anyone have great referrals for me would be awesome! Thanks

Norm’s is where I go.  The best 10 ft jig poles I’ve ever used.
Norm is a walleye fisherman himself and makes a really good custom rod.  Lives pretty close to the interstate too so shouldn’t be hard to get there.

Build your own! Its a blast and its very rewarding. Kits can be found all over. Jannsnetcraft, Cabelas, has them. I have done about 8 rods, spinning, baitcasting and even 3 fly rods. You can do it! You need a few tools to build one. Go to Jannsnetcraft.com for all your needs. Good luck!

I like Jannsnetcraft for all my rod building supplies. As far as what it costs, depends on what u want to spend. The good thing about Janns is, u can get a lower priced rod blank or a St Croix blank. Being it would be your first build I presume I would do a lower priced rod for the first time. Right now it looks like they got the perfect closeout rod blank for you. Its a IM7 6’ 8” walleye spinning or casting jigging rod. You might want to check it out. Read up on rod building and you will be able to do it.

I bought a couple kits through Mudhole.com.  Custom rod building supplies and top quality brands.

It was pretty fun and rewarding as well

I am finding out I have not got one response from emails I have sent out to different rod builders! Very frustrating! Norm on the other hand, we chatted for 30 minutes! I want to use him ,but I’m afraid he will quit making them is all…. Not sure what to do as I can’t believe there is not more rod builders!
