I think Illinois is going to have a record season with the mild winter we had and the above normal temps we are having now. We never had a deep freeze this winter frost only penetrated the ground 4” ice on the lakes may have had 6” of ice but not for a long period. We are already seeing surface temps on some lakes in the low to mid 60’S some guys are already fishing summer patterns. We have already broken the Illinois Walleye record not once but twice this year. I have heard of 5 pound plus Large mouth being caught. If this is a sign of things to come we are in for a Great Season, I predict we are going to see some new records in Illinois this season and some extended fish growth.
