Has anyone sent in a FOID application lately?  How long is it taking these days?

Mine expired Sept 1. I was negligent in sending it in until Sept. 10th, got it in the mail on the 22. Pretty quick if you ask me, I was not looking for it until mid to late October. Good Luck!

wow Colt, that was quik.  I am hoping for that kind of turn around.  I have had the filled out application sitting on my desk for a couple months now.  Just got it in the mail today.  I still have time left on my current card, but not much.

Mine took just about 5 weeks. But I was in the system as having a legal FOID before the card arrived. A CPO typed me in and showed me. He said that being in the system as legal would be good enough if I had been stopped while hunting without the card. But you still need the card to buy a gun or ammo.

True, but most of the public land sites I hunt want to see a foid card before they let you out.

I got it sent out on the 27th, check cleared on the 4th.  So lets see how long it takes to get back.  Jeff mentioning that the CO can look in the system to verify is reassuring.

You guys are lucky.  I sent mine in the beginning of September and just got it on October 15th.  Must take longer for me since I live in Crook county or something.

I got to looking at my new card and nothing changed from my last.  I filled out the whole form making sure everything was just right and all they did was change the expiration date on my old card and printed it out.  Same pic from way back when and everything.  I even put a new picture on the stupid form

The guys at Gander told me that they just use your drivers license picture that’s kept on file? So I guess unless you have updated your license your foid card pic will be the same.But..come on,why do they even have us waste our time/money? I guess I better be nice, since I’m still waiting for mine…who knew they would take my leters to Pelosi so serious…lol.

I need to send another one in that will be for my wife.  I wonder if I need to bother with a picture.  Or is that something else for them to reference.
