I was riding my 4 wheeler yesterday looking for deer antlers . I came around the corner of a cut corn field bordered by CRP land. Out of the edge of the CRP a coyote stepped out and was facing me. I thought that in itself was weird, then it hunched its back up and showed its teeth. I thought oh s..t!. I have no gun just a knife so I was ready to run it over with my 4 wheeler if it came after me. I yelled at him and he turned and went back into the CRP. He had no hair from mid way of his body back to his tail. Has anyone else seen coyotes around Northern Knox county or anywhere with Mange?. I seen one in Henry county last fall that had mange .

Shot one in Calhoun county 2 years ago that had almost no hair on 2/3 of its body and head - looked pretty ugly - but never had had one bare teeth at me.

Had three come up on me one evening while bowhunting for deer. Stuck one at about fifteen yards. It let out a yelp and the other two started showing teeth and barking at me. So, I knocked another arrow and drew back but luckily for them they took off. I woulda dropped all three if I had the chance

now that i have purchased a 243 rifle i plan on knocking some down, that would have been the best thing for that yote.

Believe it or not I have shot 6 in the last year out to 60 yards with a .22 Marlin.  They run a bit but not far. Guess it has a lot to do with shot placement. I would not shoot beyond 60 yards. I have a .30-.30 but that is kind of overkill.

No such thing as overkill.  I have been solely using my 300 win mag the last few years on all sets where I can see a good distance.  One farm I hunt, I can see coyote coming from a half mile away and more than once they have started circling downwind well outside 200 yards.

That sounds more like a Chupacabra!
