Has anybody ever fished at Bowen Lake outside of Washington, IL?  I took 2 little kids fishing there, we only managed to catch bluegill and was wondering if anybody has had any luck for catfish, bass, or crappie??  They had a blast though!

Freak you are right on!  We didn’t keep any, just more of an excursion to get some young ones catching their first fish.  TMalone, thanks for the tip, I forgot all about this place.

We have fished there before. There are a few bass in there but they are hard to catch.  Bluegill for catching to catch something is definitely the way to go. We didn’t try for catfish so have no info there. You should try Eureka Lake, very access friendly for shore fishing and a lot of things to catch there.

Good luck

outdoorswoman,
Eureka Lake had a total fish kill this spring.  It may be closed for a few years per comments on FB.  thats just facebook comments though.  Lots of fish kills over winter here .

Thanks for the input guys!  I do believe you are right TMalone.  I believe I saw a picture of signs posted at Eureka Lake with changes to the fish limits.
