Sorry it took so long to reply. Been busy with work and trying to get the boat set up for this year. I would Welcome a chance to trade a trip with you it’s an interesting trip. we would launch at 31st and Western in Chicago and run to the locks and fish our way back. There is a ton to see besides catching some nice fish. I have caught Small mouth,Crappie, Gil’s and I have been told a few Walleye have been taken but I haven’t seen any yet maybe this year. The water is getting cleaner and cleaner so I think ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.  Looking forward to talking with you.

Well with getting a late start I had to work till 2:30 we decided to go to the Desplaines river instead. It may have been for the BETTER put the boat in the water it started right up let it idle for about 15 minutes and then the rain came. We decided we were still going to go for a short ride to check out how it ran went up river about 1/2 mile and it started to come down real hard. Turned around to head back to the launch and heard a pop shut the motor off looked at everything could not find anything wrong.Started the motor tried to put it in gear no forward or reverse (Oh Boy) with it raining so hard we just decided to head back on the bow mount trolling motor glad we went up river instead of down.

Back at the ramp we put the trailer in and i fought to put the boat on in the current. I ended up walking in the water to my waist to hold the back end over it kept going over the side rails because the ramp dropped quick due to some high and fast water. After about 25 minutes and about 200 - 4 letter words the boat was on the trailer (MAN OH MAN). And a Big Thank You to a fellow angler passing by that we didn’t even know Matt Owens who saw we were fighting to put the boat on the trailer and got in the water with me to HELP. Matt you’ve got a day coming on the water with me it’s Good to know there are still people out there like you willing to Help others.

After pulling the boat out of the water and looking it over we found that the shift cable was put on the shift arm but the nut was never tighten so it backed off and the cable came off. All in all it was better that it happened so close to the ramp but the good news is its an easy fix. Every thing else worked great new ,live well pump, lights, electronics etc. I’m going to go over everything again and Thinking I am going to try it again Sunday.
