Hey all, i am again asking for your help…we are going to be going up to chicago on the weekend of June 2nd and taking out a fishing guide on lake michigan. Does anyone know a guide or have a past experience with a guide that they would recommend? Should be around 7 of us going, can those boats hold that many? I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions….i hear you can catch salmon that time of year….true false???

Heading up Apr. 27 (night) fishing the 28th for 7 hrs staying all night then 6 hrs. fishing on Sun. fishing for Perch & Coho. 4 of us going, they provide room Sat. night and breakfast Sun. all fished cleaned and taken care of. $300 each. We had 5 fishing last fall for Salmon, but we think four on the one we chartered wouild have worked better for us. I say you could have 6-7 people but it would be kind of tight, but it would be cheaper. The boat had the Cpt. and a deck hand to take care off the reels and remove fish. Kristi Lynn charters out of Waukegan but he may have a charter in Chicago also. Nice guy

I live right by Belmont Harbor and can check on guides for you if you want.  The harbor won’t be very active for a couple of months but if you don’t have any luck let me know.

where exactly is belmont harbor? I am noticing the closer to navy pier i get for charters the more expensive they are. I hear the better fishing is up by Waukegan, which is farther north and a lot cheaper as far as charters go.

Belmont is only a couple of miles north of Navy Pier.  You may want to check out Waukegan.

Capt. Dale Florek is a fun guy and a very good guide by all reports. He captains Noble II and can be reached at 877-740-0479 or 224-588-7263. He also has a Website: www.noblecharters.com

What are you wanting to fish for? I have been told by guys that fish up there a lot that the Perch are bigger around the Navy Pier area do to IL. having limits on them longer and there are better numbers and the same was said about Waukegan. Where I fish up in WI. for smallmouth they say the perch are a lot smaller and harder to find, due to limits not being put on them for years, but don’t take this as gospel because I have just started fishing up there in recent years. The limit on perch is 15 each with a limit of 5 coho per person or it is 5 salmon per person. I really can’t say either about the other other salmon bite at that time of year but you may have to head out farther to get them. If you never have fished Lake Michigan your in for a treat. In Wi. being in 30-40 ft. of water and seeing the bottom, being on a boat and not seeing land. Seeing ships, just not boats, you and your party are in for a real treat, once you have done it, you become a fish because your hooked and you will go back!

Yes this is my first time going and i am really looking forward to it! I have fished the rivers, lakes, and ponds all over Illinois, Missouri, and Kentucky but this year I wanted to try something different. From what i have read it looks as if I will be fishing for Coho and maybe some lakers. Jeff, I actually met Dale at one of the outdoor shows at the EP convention center…seemed like a nice guy..i will give him a call. thanks for the recommendation.
