This warm weather is getting me stoked.  Any other crappie heads out there?  I mainly fish Rend, but also try to hit Forbes, Little Grassy, and Lake Shelbyville a couple of times a year.  I like to explore a new lake each year.  Was thinking of trying to fish Horseshoe Lake in Alexander Co. sometime in March.  Anybody been on this lake before?  Read the general specs of the lake but would like to hear some firsthand experiences.

I have fished horseshoe numerous times but have always been after the big bluegill and redear.  I’d try the riprap along the railroad in the early season and then hit the tupelos later in the year.

Has anyone been out fishing Rend Lake or Forbes Lake lately?  I would like to make it out there next weekend for some crappie. I have never fished these two particular waterbodies and would love to give it a try.  If anyone has any direction on fishing pattern, jig colors, depth… i would greatly appreciate it!

Fulldraw, according to Crappie.com they have been hammering them on Rend.  This weekend rain may change that though.  Haven’t been out yet, boat is in the shop.

Buckbull, has the panfish population rebounded from the floods of the 90’s at Horseshoe?
