Well, I took the AR.  Unfortunately i never even heard a coyote.  First time in six years I didn’t even hear them howling at sunset.

I’ll be back at it tomorrow with my daughter, and Sunday with my son.  Hopefully better luck.  I’ve always been more of an opportunistic hunter when it comes to coyotes.  This year I am purposely going out to hunt them down.  Any suggestions on times of day and which calls seem to work best at what time?

Morning or evening either way—I think starting with any prey distress call for about 20 minutes then move to a coyote pup distress is a good sequence. I usually sit closer to an hour ( tv shows may do it for 15 minutes and move but I think coyotes in illinois may take longer to respond)
