Whitetailfreak,
I don’t have any tanned pelts, just green.  I’ll be fleshing and stretching in a few weeks, but that isn’t what you’re looking for.  I’d check out some places online for some good garmet quality tanned furs.  Or…if you want you could have your own pelts sent off to be professionally tanned.  This way there’s a little background story for your home decor.

Coon,
I was thinking about shipping to NAFA as well.  I used to sell to Groenewold, but I’m fed up with his bull.  If I don’t ship to NAFA, I may sell to local guy who treats people fairly.  I’d rather sell to local guy than a nation-wide corporation (Groenewold).  Anyway, that’s just my opinion.

yea im tired of groenewolds baloney also…...although sometimes depending on when u sell… sometimes they offer somewhat decent prices…but thats almost as improbable as alien contact! are u talking about davis? davis is a stand up guy!...but to be honest if you stretch and dry your hides….nafa or fha is the ONLY way to go…..plus not alot of people know that you can get 50% of the “estimated value” of your pelts right away at the fur stop and the remainder of the balance after auction. its also very advisable to join the shipping council….many benifits are awarded..including lower commision rates! NAFA ALL THE WAY FOLKS!!!

Coon,

I am talking about Davis.  Everytime I’m around him I’m always learning something and that is much appreciated.  We are loosing are seasoned veterans of the trapping trade, so I dont mind taking a slight hit on fur prices so long as I continue to learn from a local trapping veteran.

Anyway, how’s your season been?

tw67,
Sometimes I look at different auction houses websites and read their predictions, like NAFA for example.

I’m not going to be able to finish my hides this year.  Got a few green skins thawing and going to sell them this Friday.  We’ll see what happens.

I heard Groenewold sent 25,000 coon to Copenhagen and only 4,800 sold.  Anyone else hear this?  I also heard this is causing fur buyers to drop a couple dollars off the average price of coon.

On a good note, the demand for Muskrat is still strong.  Anyone else notice lack of water this summer hurting the population of rats?

Here’s my averages from sale guys.  Everything was skinned, but not fleshed and stretched.

Coon - $9.00

Muskrats - $6.00

Beaver - $7.00
