I don’t have any Nikon optics.  I know friends that do, and like them fine.

I was never a fan of the circles inside the BDC reticles in the Nikons, but that is all that holds me back from trying some of their mid range to high end scopes.  For BDC reticles, I want cross hairs and lines.  Not circles. Just my opinion.

Some other options you could look into in a similar price range.

Vortex Optics, Viper series of scopes.  They have BDC reticles available, made well, and have a lifetime transferable warranty.  I have 6 optic pieces from vortex including binos, scopes and a spotter.  I have used the warranty one time when a scope got squirrely.  I mailed it on a Tuesday from IL to WI….and had it back the following Monday, like new.  I hated that the scope developed an issue, but the customer service was excellent.

Leupold makes nice optics in the VX-2 line that are similar in price.  Again, BDC reticles available, made well (not as good as years ago), and have a lifetime transferable warranty.  I have a couple Leupolds, and one needs warranty work now, but I haven’t sent it in yet.

Shop Camera Land New York online.  I find them hard to beat on price and service, and they have demo models available often at even greater discounts.
