I have a question. Last Sunday I shot this buck. I had never seen him before, so I thought… Last night I was flipping thought some trail cam pics from last year and it hit me that this is possibly the same deer and a pic I have from last year. This is the only picture I have of this buck. I never saw him in person last year. I know he has change some since then but there are too many similarities to be a different buck in my opinion. He is too unique. (Wide mainbeam tips that curl up, G3s longer than G2s, wide, all short tines, etc)
So…..what do YOU think? Same buck or a twin?

I think it could be the same buck? Do you think the buck you harvested is quite old and could have been on the down hill slide for rack size?  The trail cam buck looks to have a little wider and taller rack, but maybe not as much mass, which I think could be signs of a deer a year older?  Definitely same genes, but probably same buck?

I agree with CC hunter. Same buck, downhill slide a year later. Trail cam pic slightly wider and taller, harvested pic more mass. Same unique features as you stated in original post. Awesome buck btw!

The biggest difference to me is the brow tines which set wide apart on his head on the trail cam pic, and more normal on your harvest pic.  That being said, I’d say it is still the same buck.  These things change year to year.  The shape of the right antler is almost a mirror image, and the left is very similar too.
