He has a sagging gut, curved back and rounded nose.  Looks like a mature deer but I wouldn’t want to burn a tag on him.

I bet at 25 yds he looks like a shooter, bodywise anyways,  his rack just doesn’t seem to be there tho

Pass.  Certainly looks like an older deer as mentioned.

I would pass if archery.  He’s looking and would likely jump the arrow.

Bang, bang if a gun.  Well Bang.  Only need one shell.

I would pass….

....as in pass an arrow through his lungs.

I’d gladly shoot that deer, bow or gun. I think it’s past it’s prime though, with the reasons given. Sagging back, huge body, and look at the size of those ears. Good mangement deer, is 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 an unreasonable guess?

Id shoot him. Good size for public land. Good size and size shouldn’t matter if you enjoy hunting .

I’m with jcurri…...I enjoy hunting…..ALOT….and size defiantly does matter! If it is not big, it walks, and that to me is more enjoyable than shooting the first antlered deer that walks by. To me, enjoying hunting means enjoying being in the stand whether I am shooting deer or watching a bird….not just shooting deer. Otherwise it would be called shooting…not hunting.

The deer pictured barely breaks the 100 inch mark.  He’s clearly a young buck in the 2 1/2 year old range in my opinion.  Shooting him now is like harvesting your corn in July and wondering why the ears are so small lol!  Give the little guys a break!  Let em go so they can grow!

I am getting mixed reviews on this buck in the picture.  Some are saying 2 1/2 and others are saying 5 1/2+.

Give me your guess on age and why?

I’m in the 5 1/2+ camp.  That body just doesn’t look like a young deer.
