Catching a few small channel cats in the Illinois River.  Hitting fairly well on Sonny’s Blood.  Looks like the unseasonably warm weather has moved everything up a month or so.  Still looking for the white bass where water runs into the river but so far they are either not there or don’t like the things I am trying to show them!  Hope everybody is catching plenty of fish and finding plenty of mushrooms.

I also caught some channels last week mac. We were just using night crawlers but the bite was good. I love river fishing in the spring!!!

WTF-Is the river pretty low? I don’t know how much rain you have had but I would imagine it is. We may have got an inch of rain in the past month if we were lucky. Most the ponds and lake are all down close to 3 foot around here right now.

Me and a buddy also caught 6 real nice channel cats last Sunday.  Man they are fun to catch.  We also caught a few 15 lb carp that put up a nice fight.  I also had the most powerful fish i have ever had hooked that sent my drag sailing a few times, but ended up breaking my line.  Wish i would have gotten a visual on the fish to at least know what it was!

Love Sonny’s, I have always had good luck with both the regular and the blood.  I have not started using it yet this year but have been out a couple times using nightcrawler and have caught several nice channel on bottom and one really nice one using a bobber.. nothing more fun that fighing a big catfish, I have been river fishing since I was a kid and never get tired of going !!!
