Anybody make it out this year for the opener?  Or since then?  Was thinking of heading down there this week-end.  Read a sort of negative report over at Larry’s.  Any reports?

Actually, WTF, probably not the best.  The entire shore is rip-rap, and it’s a big 2 mile square with one parking lot in the souith-west corner, so lots of walking which might not be good for kids.  On the plus side, lots of little cats, so plenty of action.  It’s kind of known as an early season destination.  You usually see nice stripers being taken early (which I heard was not the case this year).  The lake has a good population of blues as well.

BigPond, any chance you know whether that was off shore?  I’m guessing probably not.  I was thinking bank fishing—stripers and channels maybe.

WTF, never have.  I’m in the northern part of the state (DeKalb County) and when we travel to hunt or fish, we tend to head for southern Wisconsin.  Did hit Clinton a couple years ago though.
