Well its that time of year now. Perfect time to be camping and deer season is right around the corner.  How many go camping and deer hunt at the same time. I picked up a small pop up last fall just to make it easier to go to more state parks and do some deer hunting. My first trip is planned for the 3rd weekend in oct. down to JEPC . I hope to make a couple trips down there and hit some other parks.

I didnt get to do as much camping this summer cause of all the hot weather so I hope I can make up for it during deer season.

Where you from ilarcher? I only live about 25 minutes from JESP, PM a message and if you don’t mind I might meet you over there and do a hunt. Take your fishingpole, decent crappie, large and smallmouth bass. Friend of mine was bass fishing over there a couple of weeks ago caught a 50” muskie. DO get a turkey tag if you go. Even it you don’t want to do the hunt I can give you my number if you have problems or need help I know the area pretty good.

berlin, a bunch of us get together every year at JEPC to camp out. Some of us live about 75 miles away, and a few live pretty close. Sometimes we stay in the cabins, and every few years we’ll tent camp (like this year). You’re more than welcome to join us. Lots of good eats and good company. We’ve even managed to kill a few deer over the years!

It’s a good break from my regular hunting ground, to… so I don’t overhunt it right before the rut.

I’ve always toyed with the idea of taking my boat and fishing the big lake, but I never have. Seems like most of the guys we see are miserable from the wind and cold that time of year.

berlin,,,,like kevin said you are more than welcome to come join us. Kevin and I with a few other guys have been going down there for years. I always get a turkey tag cause I always see turkeys down there. I think i’m going to bring the fishin poles this year too.

Whitetailfreak,,,I hope to hit Buckhorn, Siloam Springs and many more. I do camp at Moraine veiw state park alot too since its 15 miles from me.

BTW,,,if anyone would like to go hunt that weekend at JEPC you are more than welcome in camp. We have the group camp area this year and have plenty of room for tents and a couple campers(I’m bringing my pop up). We do a potluck type dinner saturday night.  If anyone wants to come but need a few things,,,,don’t worry I have everything needed to cook, I always have plenty of food and can even bring an extra tent or two. Just send me a message.

Like I stated just PM me a message. By the way, if you get a deer what do you do with it? I may have the walk in cooler going this week, GOD willing. I go through the country way over to JESP But if you may need a place to hang one or keep one cool, (I would like it skinned 1st) your more than welcome. It don’t matter to me but it may be easier than keeping ice on them all week-end.

3rd wk end is Oct. 20 trout season and they do stock trout over there at one of the ponds. If you get lucky and get a bird I do have a big tub to get hot water going to help clean a bird a lot easier too.
