I’m the speaker chairman for Arlington Anglers Fishing Club. We have an outing coming up that’s open to anyone that wants to join us for the weekend. Location is Clinton Lake Camp Quest in Southern Illinois. We go for Crappie this time of year but we also catch Walleye Bass Gills Stripper etc. Its a Great time and we are the only people in the camp so we don’t have to worry about boats and gear. The dates are May 17th. thru 20th. For more information you can go to www.arlingtonanglers.com or contact me.

We average about 40 to 50 people mostly club members and friends.  We have decided to open the event up the past 2 years. We have a group of guys that are coming from Riverside fishing club too. The outing is a friendly get together and it is inexpensive we have the whole private camp area to ourselves we share information with each other so everyone knows what is working DNR stops by to give us updates about the lake etc. We have camp fires every night to sit and enjoy and share conversation. The club has been doing this outing for about 20 years now we are one of the oldest clubs in the Chicago land area so there is a lot of information available.

Well more about the outing the fee to stay in the camp is $7.00 a night per person. There is no launch fee the ramp is about 2 miles from camp.  The Fish from Thursday and Friday go in a pool for a Fish fry for everyone to share we all chip in to help clean them and also something for a side etc. As I said before we fish mainly for Crappie but I have always done some Walleye and Bass fishing with good results. We have a club breakfast Sunday morning that we take donations for that is always a feast. All the fishing is for fun and bragging rights there is no competition ITS ALL FOR FUN. We have anglers of all ages and skill levels. If your interested in coming out and don’t have a boat there may be some seats available on club members boats (we have a boat sharing policy that can be seen at the club website) there is also a marina that rents boats and pontoons at reasonable prices.

If your interested in coming out Please contact me and I can answer any questions you have.

Mr Harrison, This sounds like a great chance to get out, have a good time and meet people… I think it is great you guys do this and good to see you inviting even more people. .. I am very familiar with Clinton lake as it is about 30 -40 minutes from where I am located. I have benefited greatly over the years from crappie, walleye, hybrid stripper, and large mouth. Hey it’s a secret but the lake has an outstanding channel cat population as well which taste pretty darn good around an open fire with an adult beverage or two discussing the latest hot topic. Now the Clinton Lake I am familiar with is located in CENTRAL Il….lol Just because we are south of I80 doesn’t make us Southerners…lol not that I have an issue with southerners, rednecks, hillbillies or any of such. We live down here in central IL, the foothills of the flatlands….lol J/K and hope you guys have a great time!

Thanks enjycreation,
Please feel free to stop by when we are there you don’t have to camp if you don’t want to you can just hang out for the day. I also stand corrected Clinton Lake Central Illinois (Lol). I forgot all about the Cat bite which is always good on power plant lakes Thanks for the reminder. I am going to try to head out there in the next weekend or so to spend at least a long day on the water I will let you know and if your available maybe we can get together and spend some time on the water. If you know of anyone that knows about the lake that would be interested in talking to the Group Friday night when we are there Please let me know. I would be willing to pay them for a short seminar to help the members get on some fish. Like I say if you or anyone you know want to come and be a part of a great weekend feel free to join us.
