Anyone do any good?
I had a quiet opening morning myself—no sightings, no shots.

Same here, except for the shooting.  The property next to me sounded like a war going on and they started shooting around 5:30pm.  That was the only time I got to go out this weekend.

Saturday seen a few does around 730 in the morning, 2 small bucks around 9 but none of them came closer than 75 yards. Saturday evening seemed busy from the noises I could hear in the distance but never had one show its face. Sunday didn’t see anything all day. Already looking forward to next weekend.

Zippo for me.  Lots of combine action all around me mornings and afternoons though.

I was really disheartened this weekend. This will be my third year of bowhunting. Not yet taken a deer and closest was last year I got a shot at a doe but misjudged the range. I finally decided to lease land so I wouldn’t have to deal with other hunters on property. Had 3 cameras up and seen plenty of deer including a really nice 8 pointer. Yesterday morning seen him in a milo field going opposite of my stand but other than that nothing all weekend. Finally last night I seen a coyote. The neighbors ask me to take them out whenever I see one. At 30 yards I drilled him and he went about 40 yards before dying. I guess the bright side is that if he had no idea I was in area atleast my scent cover is working.

Perfect cool weekend.  Empty handed by choice.
Saw at least 5 different bucks, two with very large bodies.
Several sightings of does and fawns.  Schuyler co. is infested.  The nearby fields are full of corn and beans.
Heard one combine in distance.
Passed on several shots within 15 yards.
Drew back on a smaller doe at 10, but she didn’t like the turkey decoys and was on high alert.
On letting the string down after passing on the shot, she bolted.

One coyote at 50 yards must have caught my wind as he turned tail.
One turkey flirted with me.

Waiting until next cold spell.

Well I didn’t get out til saturday afternoon. Saturday was a good day for seeing deer for me,,,,21 deer total,,,,7 different bucks (2.5 year olds), 8 does and 6 fawns. Sunday was a little slower, saw 3 does and 3 fawns and 8 turkeys. Aternoon wise I saw 1 doe with 2 fawns. All in the same field.

Tonight I was busted by a 8 point 2.5 year old buck, 4 does and 3 fawns in the same field again. No tags filled yet but all in all it a good start to my season for public land. Hope to have a tag filled by the weekend.

I hunted am/pm saturday, sunday, and monday.  Seen a total of 10 deer.  Passed on shots of a large doe with fawn and two 1.5yr bucks.  Monday night I decided to shoot a small fawn after letting his sibling and mother pass through my shooting lane.  Been bowhunting for 4 years and it was nice for it not be in the 90’s opening weekend for once.

Still very slow at my place.  Thinking about hunting a field edge this afternoon so I can work on my tan while hunting.  Other than opening weekend, reminds me of October 2010.  Hot, Hot, Hot!
