Andy, you might want to reread it.  Those are from boone and crockett not mike h.

Are you surprised Illinois is still number one?

Maybe you should retread it . It claims 2000 to 2016 , let’s see some numbers for the last 5 years . Il has done more than slip it has fallen off the charts . Come on man don’t rely on ancient data you should know better .

That is the most current Boone & Crockett data, I am sorry you guys look like fools, but the numbers don’t lie.

Maybe Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, etc. can start to mimic what we are doing right in Illinois?

The amount/percentage of true giants tagged and booked is not even close….......

You are obviously the only fool here . Look at the last 5 year trends and you will find your sadly mistaken . Il has been in decline the last 10 years are you delusional or just plain dumb?

I am posting facts, how about you?  I understand people get mad when they are backed into a corner.

Post up Boone & Crockett’s last five year trends for non-typical booners that you are referring to.  Would love to see it…...

Looked up Nc archives . Il was 5th typicals for last award period and only beat Ohio by one deer in nt . That is for 2010 - 2012 award period. Il is ranked 5th in percentage of Boone and Crockett deer per number of bucks harvested . Il deer herd is in a steep decline whether you want to admit it or not . If you do a little research you can find all this info yourself with out getting on here acting the fool .

Exactly you have no idea what the five year trend is and dismiss the most current data.

The current trend according to il dnr shows a huge decrease in harvest over the last 5 yrs . The only data I could bring up on bc website was archive from 2012 awards period . . Like I said do your own research just type best states for deer hunting or worst states for deer hunting into google and see what you find . Il will be 4th on the worst list and 9th or 10 on best list . You probably know all this already but are looking to argue over something we all know . The il deer herd is in steep decline and there is nothing anybody is going to change that because of money and politics .

Sadly when it comes to deer hunting big mega bucks are what most people are looking for and between 2000 - 2016, Illinois is on top and that is with second place 90 entries behind Illinois.

You can argue and bring up any blogs you may like, but when it comes to big bucks and numbers Boone & Crockett is the authority and most credible source in most peoples eyes.

Why do so many of you get mad that Illinois hunters are successful?

Get mad when people are successful ? Where did that come from ? I wish everyone could enjoy the thrill involved in taking a true giant, however with the decline in harvest and mismanagement most will never experience it. I myself have taken many big deer over the last 30 years and would love to see my grandkids have the same opportunities as I had . With the current state of our herd it’s not likely tho. If you know anything about deer management you would know bc nt are very very rare and are in no way a means to evaluate a deer herd . Like I said before you probably already know this or should and only seem to want to argue about something you nor I can do anything about except watch our own harvests and try to improve hunting on our own farms we hunt . Have a nice day

And by the way the 29th big game awards got Boone and Crockett is July 14-16th in Springfield Missouri . So the latest data they have until the new book comes out is the 28th awards so that would be the newest data , unless there is another way to find out more info on entries . If you or anyone else knows how post it on here I would like to see what it shows. Thanx
