Anyone finding any or are the bucks still holding them in your areas? I’ve seen one half rack and one full rack on deer driving around

Thanks guys. Looking for extra motivation after I blanked on my last trip despite being in an area with a dense deer population and many rubs. Back at it Friday

We just got about 4” of snow last night so that’ll put a damper on things for a couple days.  Walking in fresh snow sucks!!

Personally i wouldn’t bother going out looking at this point simply due to the low rate of success.  I pulled a camera two weeks ago in a small portion of our farm; it had a mature buck that had already shed both sides by December 11th.  I took my dog in there last week and found 2 sheds, one that i believe is from him and one from a younger buck; i also found one while trailing a doe in early january.  To me it’s not worth bumping the deer out of their core areas by actively seeking sheds but that’s me.  Give it a few more weeks.

Those deer will be bumped regardless of the timing. They will be bumped tomorrow the same as theyll be bumped in March, so that holds little weight. Also, I don’t shed hunt where I hunt so that’s a plus. One more thing, if you wouldn’t bother going this early due to low success then why did you go already and be relatively successful (2 sheds)? Back at it today, good luck boys

In a few more weeks the sheds that are on the ground now will be chewed to hell.  Gotta get a few early walks in!

Got skunked today.  High water caused the deer to move.  Time for plan B

Plan B worked out.  Picked up 2 sets yesterday afternoon.  Dinky 6 pointer and a decent 10.

Got a set off a dink and 3 singles this evening.  One pretty good antler with 7 points.
