I started this topic as a light hearted question. Please don’t get mad and start arguing with each other and get me in trouble with the boss Mr. Lampe. I love this sight and want to continue on it. smile . I haven’t been to the Deer & Turkey Classic since it was in Bloomington.

Hope none if I’m around.  I’d like to get my sons horns measured but it will cost $20.  Seems they would do the measuring for free in the old days.  Haven’t been to one since Bloomington around 2008.

I went last year and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It hasn’t been the same since it left Bloomington. Unless you guys need jerky or a sticker for your truck I honestly wouldn’t waste your money. But that is just my opinion.

Never been, no intentions of doing so in the future either.

I do not go anymore but enjoyed the classic in its early days. Went to my first when they did it with Iowa. What I remember most is a guy from Arkansas selling carbon arrows and Matt McPherson trying to peddle a 75 percent let off bow. No one was interested in either.

No plans on going ever again.  The commercialization of deer hunting is what’s wrong with our deer herd today.  Deer pimps disgust me and that’s all the classic is anymore, people profiting off of our natural resource.  It’s just a bunch of deer farmers and their chance to market their products to the clueless clowns that buy into the industry propaganda.
Let’s not forget the idiots with their hat pins and 25 stickers on their trucks. Did somebody tell them there was a dress code and they could only wear camo?
I heard Wired Arrow will be there signing autographs and Marc Anthony will be there as well doing a seminar on deceptive photography.

I will probably go to show off my hat full of pins then get a few truck stickers and leave. Last time I was there I went by the DNR booth and there were a couple of game wardens sitting there. I asked why you can buy illegal bait products at the stores and one guy stared past me like he didn’t hear me and the other one ate a burrito in my face and acted like he didn’t hear me. I felt like Patrick Swayze in Ghost when he was trying to get his wife’s attention when she was about to be attacked. Come to think of it, I could use another one of those 2 dimensional cardboard deer decoys I saw a few years ago.

I have been the past couple of years since I live just outside of Springfield, most the comments are right on. There is a stand that sells sausage seasonings and they have a Cajun Brat Seasoning that is simply just awesome. I need to get their business card so I can just order it instead of going to the show.

I may go with my son. The trip to Sheel’s is worth it and while there I may go to the show.

Heartland Outdoors will have a booth there and will give out free magazines and stickers that say: Guns Are Welcome on Premises.

I have been told this year’s show will be much improved over last year. I hope that is true and will be eager to see how many deer show up, which to me is always the point of the thing anyway.
