Wow Andy, you are probably right.  He does have a lot of “ODD” pictures where body is hidden as if he is hiding something.

I always liked Marc.  I just can’t help but feeling cheated and lied to.  I do believe innocent until proven guilty but the proof seems to be all there.  I want to hear what Marc has to say.  We deserve that

I feel the same way Andy.  I won’t loose any sleep over it; i’m just disappointed.  I’m not sure we will ever hear the truth.  I would think Marc is taking the steps his legal council is telling him to take at this point.  An admission of guilt would put Marc into precarious place both civilly and criminally within our judicial system.

ORIGINAL: Woods Walker

Marc….I’d like to pick your brain a bit about this ground hunting stuff. Anyone else that has questions is more than welcome to chime in also.

So, to begin:

1. I assume that with these “up close and personal” type deer encounters, that you use some sort of face covering. If so, what do you prefer, face paint or a mask/covering of some sort? I’ve gone back and forth, and most of the time I prefer a camo veil that is attached to the turkey hunter’s boonie hat I wear under my shaggie headpiece. I wear glasses, and the veil hides any shine or glare that might come off of them. But it does reduce my shooting range even though I do practice with it on.

2. Like any good stillhunter knows, you need to use the shadows to your advantage. Do you find that certain times of the day help and/or hinder you in being undetected by deer?

3. In regards to lighting conditions, do you have any preference for overcast or sunny days?

Enough picking for now! [;)]

Woodsy, I like to wear a leafy type of face mask when I hunt. Most often I’ll wear this face mask even though I’m wearing a Ghillie suit made from different material. When you think about it, the two different materials break up your profile even more, thus creating even more confusion for your game animals. Sometimes, when hunting a real difficult buck, I’ll pull the mask way off to one side making my head look lop-sided, sort of like that character Gumby. It’s all about distorting everything about you! No fashion statements here! Mis-matches are OK.

The above was a Q&A on Deer&Deer; Huntings website.  Got a chuckle out of it!

I’m told that during one such discussion on his facebook page this past fall, he went so far as to say that a deer actually came up and ATE A LEAF OFF HIS GHILLE SUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple people I know saw the post and started telling people to go check it out.  But Marc quickly deleted it.  It was just one of a few things I remember him saying that told me he was completely full of crap.

And what hasn’t been discussed is the fact that he “killed” another huge typical this past fall.  I don’t remember pics ever being posted on Heartland, but I saw them on his facebook page.  The pics were just like the rest of his recent ones…...very strange.  I just remember seeing the head and neck of a big 10 or 12, laying dead on the ground, sticking out from behind a huge tree.  The body was completely hidden.  ANYONE GOT COPIES OF THOSE PICS?!?!?!?!?

The real truth will never be told.  Marc has enough connections to silence the whispers.  He may have been booted out of the IWA but I’ve yet to hear him called out by one of his fellow friends.  Don?  Les?  Anybody?  Where does the IWA stand on such an important moral issue?  We all want to know what is going on?  Why was Marc invited to join the IWA and not one of your other celebs?  What about Stan Potts?  Maybe too big of a name I guess.  Too popular.  Nothing to gain.  The hole grows deeper

Andy, if you will do some research you will find a statement from both the IWA and Don. It’s more than obvious where everyone stands on this and it was addressed without hesitation. The IWA is a group of passionate hunters that have been busting their butts to get things changed in Illinois so we can all have the benefits of a sound management program in the future.

No problem, glad to help.

The IWA has much bigger things to work on and better things to worry about than a guy that played no role for the few short weeks he was a part of it.

Andy, if you’ve read the statement from IWA, then why are you asking where we stand?  I think we made it pretty clear where we stand on game violations.  What more do you want us to say?  Do you really think we condone unethical behavior?

Marc’s name was brought up with IWA because he had contacts in the media and because he was a taxidermist whose income depends on the deer herd in Illinois being managed properly.  That’s it.  He wasn’t invited as a celebrity.  And nobody with IWA had any knowledge of anything he’d been accused of.

I realize you have a thing with Don and now maybe Les, but don’t drag IWA into any kind of conspiracy theory.  Heck, the majority of the people helping with IWA had no idea who Marc was before any of this hit.  He never attended a meeting, and only sent a handful of e-mails in the couple of weeks since he was asked to help.

Nothing to hide here.  I know that doesn’t fit the agenda of blowing up a big internet conspiracy theory over Marc and IWA, but that’s the truth.  Like JB said, we have more important things to worry about.

Go to the North American Whitetail article by David Hart. It has video footage of Marc standing by the buck in question describing the hunt that took the trophy down. He even mentions that he has trail cam pics of the deer prior to harvest. All he would have to do is produce the pics and redeem himself. Why would you take down your twitter & facebook account if you didn’t do what you are accused of? Marc? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?
