Anyone done much walking/shed hunting lately? Heard a lot of reports about antlers hitting the ground and anxious to get out.

Vermilion….I’m assuming your from vermilion county!? Yesterday I was ice fishing at mingo in kennekuk county park and when I was leaving a small 4 pointer ran out in front of me with both sides and right behind it was a decent size 8 pointer with only one side so he dropped it somewhere in there!! I have recent trail cam pics of bucks with both sides and some that look like it was a buck that dropped both sides so you just never know until you get out and look!! Just make damn sure the ice is thick enough before you head across a river that “looks” to be frozen over good!! Good Luck Guys!! Can’t wait to see some pics!

I saw quite a few deer while out messing around today.  I am sure a few in the distance were bucks, but didn’t have a rack.  One group I did get close to had a half rack with them.  Since the bucks are getting back to bachelor groups, I can only assume the 3 or 4 other deer with the half rack had to be bucks that had dropped.

Yep I am located in Vermillion county, actually about 5 miles from kennekuk park.
I was wanting to walk quite a bit this weekend but with the forecast I doubt I will be doing any walking.
Good time to get out there and shoot some yotes though.
Taterbug did you have any luck ice fishing?

Walked all day Saturday with no sheds found. Found plenty of antlers…....only problem was they still had 4 legs under them. Won’t be long now! My trail cams show one of my small bucks had shed but the rest are still packing.

Vermilion I’m sorry I’m just now replying to this I just happened to see it….yes I did…I caught some catfish, a 3lb bass, a musky, and some small crappie and bluegill!! I about had my poles ripped through the ice hole quite a few times too I literally had to stick my hand in the hole to save one of them but I never got any of the fish…I’d grab the pole and give a little flip of the wrist and I could feel the weight of the fish for a split second then the line would go limp; I’m not sure why I wasn’t hooking the fish; so it’s hard telling what those fish were!! Do you do any mushroom hunting or ice fishing yourself!?

Not to much Ice fishing. Love to fish when it’s warm and I have shorts on though.

Mushroom hunting…..........love it and can’t wait. Crappies, mushrooms and budweiser would be my last meal.
