What did you learn last year or over the off season that you want to try or do different while bow hunting this season.

I say it every year, but I want to try the ground more.

I need to stop hunting so often in the morning during early season.  I seem to regularly bust deer while heading to my stand during the early season.

Being a public land hunter you always have to be ready to do something different lol!  This year I’m gonna try to pattern hunters rather than deer.  I’ll let you know how that works out.  8)

I would say shoot less deer but I only shot one doe last year.  With numbers down I hope alot of us do the same.

Pick a couple of spots and hunt them consistantly - I got too many different setups.

I need to keep moving my cameras around and finding where the deer are. I can’t seem to find where the deer are in October. As soon as the rut hits and late season I can find the deer better but the early season kicks my butt.

Shoot a nice buck.

Hard to argue with that one.

Also being a public land hunters, we want to get stands set farther back in (away from parking lots) than we have in the past.  Last year, being so dry, we had better access to some areas that normally would be tough.  This year, I’d like to get into those areas and away from people.

I havent shot a deer in two years…so I think you know what I want to do differently!!!!

I did go out last weekend and secure one stand, move another stand to a spot I have been wanting to move it to for a few years and trimmed some trees that were blocking some sight lines.  It seems like we always talk about doing these things but never get enough time to go out and get them done.  Then when Im in the tree I kick myself for not doing the work earlier…
