Just wondering if anyone is heading out West this year.  I just found out I drew a Wyoming Antelope buck permit.  Really pumped about drawing it.  Maine moose lottery is this Saturday and is the last drawing I will be waiting on for this year.  I don’t know what I’ll do if I end up drawing both tags!

Just got my Colorado Archery ELK tag yesterday.  A buddy and I both got drawn, group tag, so I guess that was expected.  three years of preference points almost gauranteed us a tag, but now we have them.  Been practicing with the bow alot lately, come August 31st we are west bound with the hammer down.  We are going DIY, so quite a bit of organizing to do, but the last time we went out both of us brought home an elk.  SUPER EXCITED!!!

Thats fantastic CallinYotes.  I’ve been looking at hunting the San Juan in Colorado for a few years but never put in for a tag.  I know the White River NF gets most of the press for Elk but the ruggedness of the San Jaun seems enticing.

Wyoming is very friendly to nonresidents and you don’t have to mortgage the house to apply for permits because you can just do the prefernce point option.  When I go out west; I spend most of my time there.
