just shoot a bearded hen, weird bird ,weird food in craw. it was full of snails of all sizes. any else seen this

Thats pretty neat!  I have notices snails in the soil before and wondered if turkeys ever ate them, guess so.  Bearded hen? Nice!

I once found a small snake inside a turkey i shot 5 yrs ago:)He must have thought it was just a big worm…It wouldnt surprise me too see them eatin snails…Congrats on the bearded hen, They are an Awesome trophy!!!!!

Snails are a good source of calcium that hens need for formation of egg shells. You will see hens of a number of species including waterfowl actively seek out this calcium source prior to egg formation/laying.
