I arrowed this 21.5lb, 9.5"beard and 1"spurs this past Sunday morn around 8:20, it was a 23 yard shot and the Turkey Terror Broadhead did the job.

Real awesome bow kill!  I am hoping to do the same on 4th season.  I was going to use the bow and try to get my first bow turkey this weekend, our 2nd season, but my dad wants to come sit with me and i dont think i will have room to draw with him in the blind with me.  That is absolutely fine with though, i will take any opportunity to share a hunt with my dad any chance i can get.  Spending time with him in the outdoors is one of the main reasons i hunt.  I think he is going to tote along his video cam too so we will see how that goes.  Are we going to designate this forum as the place to post beards on the ground photos?  2 of my best friends doubled today with great birds, they were so pumped.  I am going to hold off and see if one of them posts the details here, because they had a heck of a day!

Thanks everyone!!!!!

Mostly it’s luck! I set the dekes, use the calls, sit at the back of a dark blind dressed in black and hope he walks in front of my doorway’s shootin lane. The shot is second nature cause I practice year round on form and accuracy by going to 3D shoots and shooting a lot at home on my range. This is my No.16 bird with a bow in 7 years and trust me I’ve had some misses, but I didn’t give up. I’ve also been lucky enough to have my landowners tag and draw two more each year. But again, THANKS to all!

Let 2nd season in the north zone begin!!  I hope the birds are wound for sound (the sound of gobbling) in the morning!  Weather looks perfect!

Well. they certainly were “wound for sound.”  I’ve never seen them as vocal on public land.  I had two strutting in the field in front of me—one got to about a hundred yards from me then wandered off, the other was led off by a real hen.  Oh well, that’s turkey hunting.  It was a beautiful weekend though.

I am not sure how to attach links to this, but the following link is the youtube video of my turkey hunt this last Saturday:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph8fWxBoWMA

I am really new at the video thing, it is the first hunt we have tried to video.  My dad was nice enough to get up early to sit behind the camera while i was the gunner.  It was one of the most exciting and rewarding hunts i have been a part of.  Having it all on video is really neat, but the fact that my dad was sitting inches away and we experienced this together is hard to even put into words how much i appreciated this day in the turkey woods.  This gobbler is far from the biggest in the woods or bigger than most i have harvested in the past, but its a 23 pounder with a 9 inch beard.

The pic here was taken right before the shot.

Well i knew the actual video was a bit crappy, you might need to take your motion sickness pills before watching, but i figured i would get at least one comment on this post?  Good or bad?  Even if the video isnt watched, thought the picture would get a reaction from a turkey lover?  Oh well.
