spent most of the morning putting up new bluebird houses, and maintenance to ones that have been in the field for a while, live in northwestern illinois, wondering if people have seen new arrivals yet!

There have been a few that wintered near me but I have not seen any that I would consider new arrivals yet. It would not surprise me though.

Did you hear about the Mountain Bluebird that wintered down by Cahokia Mounds? Pretty rare bird for Illinois. I saw it in February, here is a crappy pic.

Thanks for doing what you do for the birds. With all the Brown-headed Cowbirds, Tree Swallows, and House Wrens the Bluebirds need all the help they can get.

This morning at Ramsey Lake State Park I had 3 pairs. Plus a few other new birds for the year.
