Finally got my EGW rail mount for my Savage Axis in .223 today!  Mounted it, put the Nikon Prostaff on, and boresighted it the old fashioned way!  Set up a target at 50 yds and shot two.  3” high and 3” left.  I’ve heard when sighting, to only adjust by one axis at a time.  18 clicks later, I was down to 1” high.  I wanted to be 1/2 inch low at 50 according to my trajectory charts.  Dropped it too low about 1” after the 2nd adjustment.  Brought it up 8 clicks, and 20 clicks right.  My last 6 shots were all in a 1” group.  It was a bit windy today, so I’ll fine tune the windage on a better day, and at 100yds.  Pretty good after 6 shots of sighting in!  I absolutely love this rifle and have not had any trouble with it.  Alot of people complain about the trigger pull and the bolt being stiff to unlatch.  After 140 rounds, my trigger pull seems a bit lighter, and it’s very crisp.  The bolt is smooth, and it unlatches nicely.

If it runs, flies, or drives, I’m interested!

That Nikon Prostaff is great.  I am glad I went ahead and got it instead of a cheaper one.  I haven’t got to use it a whole lot, but it seems to be of great quality in all aspects.  I am amazed a the SpotOn application on Nikon’s website (also available for iOS and Android).  You can look up virtually any specific cartridge by caliber, brand, weight, and bullet style, and it will provide exact yardages for the BDC reticle.  Although I haven’t tested it, I think it amazing.  I know Nikon wouldn’t use something that might damage their reputation.

Here’s my set-up with the Nikon scope and a Raptor sling.
