That’s a tall ladder stand!  What kind is it?  Did you go to Hunter Safety System’s web site?  Bet they can help with your boy.

Hunter safety systems makes a Junior sized vest and they also have a system where you tie a rope to the tree at the top and bottom of the stand and it has a special slip not that your son would have to slip up the rope after each step.  I like this system because the youth would always be attached to the rope.  Other systems I’ve seen require the the youth to disconnect and reattach which is not as safe.  I’ve seen both items at the Cabela’s and Bass Pro shops down here.  And you have time to order them online.

Ya, HSS makes a youth sized vest.  I need to pick one up myself.

FREAK…I was wondering about that because you can’t find them over about 17’.  When ladder stands first hit the market, I thought they’d never work.  Too big and too obvious.  Like they had a “HUNTER HERE!” neon sign hanging on them.  Boy, was I wrong.  I’ve killed a lot of deer out of ladder stands.  I still like Lock-On types better, but ladders are great for kids.  Both of my kids killed their first deer out of a ladder stand.

Matt, I may have a HSS youth vest that you can have.  Let me check…in other words…let see if I can find it.  My once 100lb. son is now 6’-3” amd about 180lbs.  I’ve had to buy him all new warm weather and cold wx hunting clothes twice in the last three years.

You might also want to take a look at Go Muddy harnesses they have a youth size, $79

I replaced a HSS with a Muddy much lighter/cooler and quieter.  IMO

Matt, I should be…after the hunt of course.  If I’m not home, I’ll be up in your neck of the woods possible throwing a couple back…hopefully in celebration of something that barely fits in the bed of my EF-TWOFIDDY.

Oh, and Sandusky just said he’s sorry for touching some boys on the leg in the shower…so it’s all better now.  Just a big misunderstanding.  When does Sandusky Season start?  Or is it already open?

Who is Sandusky???

He was a football coach for Penn State University until he was caught rapping a 10 year old boy in the shower.  A real POS.
